 | Hope Madden Affliate: The Other Paper Hope Madden lives in Grandview, OH with her husband, George, and the great lefty pitcher Riley. Armed with a degree from The Ohio State University’s creative writing program and an unreasonable amount of time spent in front of a movie screen, she moved from tending bar to developing college texts for Merrill Education and reviewing films for The Other Paper, as well as doing freelance writing on film for a variety of sources.
- Managed to keep a nice gig reviewing films for respected independent weekly newspaper The Other Paper since 2000.
- Became a juror for the Chris Awards - the Columbus International Film and Video Festival - in 2003.
- Began reviewing DVDs for CHET Chat, an internal newsletter for Pearson Publishing, in 2005.
- Joined the Central Ohio Film Critics Association in 2004.
- Created feature “From Page to Screen” for each chapter in the text Young Adult Literature: Exploration, Evaluation, and Appreciation by Katherine Bucher and M. Lee Manning (2006, Pearson Education)
- Publishes short fiction, essay, and poetry with relative frequency for such journals as The Sun, The Prentice Hall Review, Footsteps, Purple Canary Press, and The Rejected Quarterly
